Trick or Treat

This is the first year Lila really got into Halloween. She went as Little Red Ridding Hood and wore her costume for about two weeks before October even started. Since we weren't really sure what we'd be doing for the 31st and since I needed a little practice in the studio, I talked Lila into posing for me for a few Halloween pictures. She and Eric were really good sports about it but I'm not sure I'll ever get either of them back there. 

Halloween night we ended up going trick or treating with some friends downtown. Lila had a great time and I'd never been to "Clark St." on Halloween before so it was pretty fun for me too. They block off the street for a few blocks and all the houses really get into it. There were lines up to the doors and the people just sat on their steps and handed out candy. Surprisingly it went pretty fast. The houses were very impressive (the historic district). One had bars all around the front porch and people in gorilla suits in the "cage." Another had a graveyard with crazy lighting in the front yard and people as ghosts in the upper windows. Ok, I might have had even more fun than Lila did :)

Lila's First Haircut

Lila got her first haircut earlier this month. She watched the movie and drove her rocket ship through the whole thing with barely time for a smile for the camera. Doesn't she look pretty!

 5 Seconds later she had red juice from her sucker all over her...and my car.

Lila's First Fish

Lila got her first fish yesterday... which we promptly killed. We figure there was something wrong with the water so we're letting the filter run for a while and then we'll try putting some more fish in the tank. Lila was excited while it lasted and wasn't too sad about loosing her fish after I told her we'd get her new ones.  Try, try again...



River Fishing

Lila and I got to try out the new boat with Eric this weekend. She had a great time playing with the worms and handing Eric minnows when he needed them. The fishing was a little lacking but it was a beautiful day and Lila didn't even mind when she fell in the river a couple times.



Summer

Lila has been having lots of fun at the new water park down the street from us.  She still isn't swimming but she sits on the tube and floats around the river and plays in the wave pool.

She still loves to walk around in my heels and is getting better at it even though I'm sure we'll have a few good wipe outs before too long. 

Easter 2012

We packed a lot in to Easter weekend this year. Erin and Thad came up on Friday, Saturday we spent a few freezing minutes at the dog park before we gave up and headed to the mall so Lila could practice her hide and seek skills in the clothes racks and Sunday we went out to the river with some friends and had a picnic and Easter egg hunt.

Lila's first fish! Eric was letting her real in the line when it hit - she was pretty excited.

Three Years Old!

Lila celebrated her birthday in the Black Hills this year, and had a great time spending time with all her family. Thanks to everyone who spoiled her to death - even her daycare said she came back a little more "demanding" than usual.
