The Birthday Week Continues

The Morrison's came to visit the weekend to help Lila blow out more candles. Lila loved seeing her aunt and uncle and had a great time playing with her cousin Jack. She wasn't, however, so sure about the candle on her cupcake. At first she just nervously looked at it saying "hot, hot," but she quickly moved on to screaming for her life. Oh well, maybe she'll be up to blowing out candles next year. :)

Lila's Birthday Week

Lila has already figured out how to spread her birthday out for a whole week. Last week, she received a package from her great aunt Diane who had found these great needlework fabric books while visiting Laos. Then, on her actual birthday, Friday, they had cupcakes and sang for her at daycare. She came home singing "Happy YOU, Happy YOU" over and over. Lila finished off her day with a visit from some friends bearing more birthday gifts.

Saturday we decided to take advantage of the nice weather and take the kids out for a hike.

The park we went to is near the airport so we had to stop often for Lila to point out planes.



Sunday, she had a play date with a friend so she could pickup even more birthday goodies and next week, the birthday celebration continues with a visit from her grandma and grandpa Wolff. More pictures to follow, I'm sure.

Sledding

This Saturday we finally had enough snow and a warm enough day to go sledding. Lila had a great time and was exhausted by the time we were done.

Bath Time Bubbles

Lila, also, got bubble bath for Christmas and now we can't get her out of the tub at bath time. I eventually have to open the drain when she's not looking and feign surprise and disappointment as the bubbles disappear down the drain.

Sledding

Lila got a new sled for Christmas (along with the cute bear hat). Although she can only last about 5 minutes with as cold as it's been out, she loves it and can't stop smiling the whole time.

(kudos to Eric for finding a sled with wings, a back and a seat belt - who would have thought one existed)

"Whatever Jackson does, I can do better"

We had a great time with the family over the Christmas holiday. Everyone got in some good quality time with Lila, including her cousin Jack. She followed him around relentlessly, alternating between copying him and competing with him.

Jackson laid out his blanket to watch a movie – so Lila laid out her blanket to watch a movie...

They raced around the kitchen island, pushing their chairs...

which Lila thought looked like fun, so she kept sitting in Jack's chair so he would push her.

Growin' Up

It's been a lot of fun watching Lila's personality come out. While none of us are surprised by the attitude (apparently we weren't reading the book right so she had to do it herself) her shoe fetish has developed a little earlier than I expected. She tries on and walks in any pair of shoes she can find.
